Sloth: The Insidious Sin
As sins go, sloth seems a cosy one – a slippers and pyjamas, snoozy sort of sin. What’s the harm of a little laziness, a little too much leisure. Sloth brings the sleep that has no awaking. Sloth does slightly less than the right thing. It doesn’t bother returning something to the lost-and-found, but pockets it instead; it doesn’t tell the clerk he has undercharged. Sloth has never written a thank-you note, sent a birthday card on time or entertained angels. All of this simply takes too much effort.
I Am Sloth, But Call Me Lazy. I Don't Do Much, But Sometimes Maybe. I Come And Go, I'm Not Real Fun. When I'm Around, Nothing Gets Done. I'm Quite Slow, But Don't Be Tricked. I'm The Sin That's Hard To Kick. It's Really Hard To Get Rid Of Me. I'm Deadly Sin Number Three.
